They may be the
very essence of perfection in our eyes, but even some of the most popular
celebrities still needed a little bit of assistance from their friendly
neighborhood orthodontists. Just because they live in million-dollar mansions,
own their private planes and take a daily bath in their Olympic-sized pools
doesn’t mean that they don’t think about their precious pearly whites. Most of
them are even known for their Oscar and Grammy-winning smiles.
Niall Horan of
One Direction
The most
adorable boy band in history has one member that sported braces even while they
were touring. Niall Horan recently had his braces removed, which caused a
global swooning phenomenon last year. He was adorable with the braces, but he
is still a welcome and admittedly gorgeous sight without them.
Miley Cyrus
Another
international pop star who had her teeth straightened is Miley Cyrus, one of
the paparazzo’s favorite subjects. Almost every moment Miley spends out of her
home is photographed, but why haven’t we seen the former Disney star with
braces on? That’s because instead of opting for the traditional braces, she
chose to use hidden braces. These are attached behind the teeth, but allows for
the same type of malocclusion correction. We didn’t even notice how it
happened, but you can definitely see the big difference in her smile.
Emma Watson
Although we’ve
watched Emma Watson grow from the admirable and brainy Hermione into the woman
that she has become, we’ve never actually seen Emma Watson sport braces while
on screen. Still, she openly admitted that she had to grow into her body. Like
any normal teenager she experienced weight changes, bad skin and a need for
orthodontia.
Prince Harry and
Prince William
The royal
orthodontia was a big topic of conversation for fans of the crown for a while.
When Prince Harry was younger, the “royal orthodontist” applied clear braces to
the prince’s regal pearly whites. The royal family’s teeth were discussed so
incessantly that the Clarence House had to issue a statement about Prince
William’s retainer stating that, ”Prince
William has used a permanent support for his bottom teeth for ten years.”
